Invitation to Join the SLCS
Dear Lady Captain
Congratulations on your appointment as Lady Captain, I wish you a very enjoyable and successful year.
As Captain of the Surrey Lady Captains’ Society I write to tell you a little about our Society. I’m pleased to say membership is open to you once you have completed your term of office.
The Society was inaugurated in 1964 for ladies who had been a Captain of their club in Surrey, we currently have over 600 members; Sussex, Kent, Hampshire and Berkshire have similar Societies and we have annual matches with these counties.
Our year starts with our AGM and luncheon normally in late February or early March. We hold 5 golf meetings during the year at different Clubs throughout the County; a Singles Cup, 3 Better Ball competitions and a Mixed Invitation; we also play 4 Inter-County Matches against the other Societies mentioned above. All SLCS Members are welcome to apply to play in any of the events and matches.
You will probably find that some of the Past Captains at your Club are already members of the Society and I’m sure it will be useful to chat with them. However, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or would like to know more about the Society.
We do have a fairly comprehensive Website and an on-line application form can be submitted through the site by clicking here or I will be happy to send you an application form direct.
